Contest Rules

BEST BLACK and WHITE IMAGES NB: This is a MEMBERS ONLY CONTEST. Entries from Non Pre-Approved Members will be Removed, without notification. ONLY images from existing, Pre-Approved Members will be allowed.

NB: You must be an existing, Pre-Approved Member of the MASTERS OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE Group, in order to enter this contest (As already communicated with all Members).

New Applicants: Please make sure that you meet or exceed All relevant Minimum Requirements of Sections 4 and 6 on our Homepage first. If you don’t meet the above, you will be Removed.

This is a Contest for the Best “Black & White Images”, from all existing, Pre-Approved Members. All relevant Mediums are allowed, as per Section 7 (See Homepage).
Sepia type images are also allowed.

All images submitted must meet or exceed the Minimum Image Requirements of Section 6 on our Homepage. All Pre-Approved Group images should already meet the above Requirements.

NB: Images below the above Minimum Requirements (4K), will be Removed.

This is a Juried Contest.

*Voting Criteria:
In order to ensure that the same, fair, and professional Voting Criteria is used by all Jurors, when judging and voting for images, the following must be used as a guide (From Section 6 on our Homepage):
*Part 1: Technical Excellence: 55% Maximum Score (See par. 6.7).
*Part 2: Other Criteria: 45% Maximum Score (See par. 6.6 (b), (c) & (d).)
Please ensure that you apply the above *Criteria consistently for All Images and All Participants.

Some of the overall Best & Top finishing images will be selected after the Contest, to be featured on our Homepage (All Dates TBD). This includes the overall Contest 1st through 3rd place images.

For any tied images in the Top 20, one of 2 strategies will be applied:
For other Participants: I will select the best of the relevant images.
For own images: A Tie / Joint position may be declared (Alternatively: Additional Internal Voting).
The above *Voting Criteria will be used for all the above.
Top 3 positions to be awarded to 3 different Participants.
(i.e. No more than 1 Top 3 position per Participant).

Note: I reserve the right to remove any Entries and / or Votes and / or Participants that do not comply with all the relevant rules. I will also do a Moderation of relevant selected votes, to ensure the Integrity of the Contest; and that the above *Voting Criteria is applied consistently for All Images and All Participants.

NB: All the Pre-Approved Group images are Excellent!
This is going to be a Great Contest – Have Fun & Enjoy!

EXCLUSIONS

The following are specifically Excluded:

1. Any Images from Non Pre-Approved Members.
2. Any image below 4K (As per Section 6 on our Homepage).
3. Also see all general exclusions, as per Section 9 (Homepage).
4. Images with “Full-Resolution Preview” switched OFF. **(See more info below)
5. The Top 5 winning Images from the previous Contest.

SUBMISSION RULES

Each Pre-Approved Member has the option to submit either 3, or up to 10 Pre-Approved images; in line with all the Rules & Requirements, as stated; and as per relevant Member communications (See latest message, dated October 10th).
** Please ensure that All your submitted images have the “Full-Resolution Preview” switched On. This is required to do a proper and professional review of all images.

VOTING RULES

1. This is a Juried Contest. In order to vote, you must be a member of the selected Jury, of the MASTERS OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE Group; and accept your Jury invitation.

2. You may NOT vote for your own images. The details of the Voting Procedure will be as per internal discussions and information shared with all members of the selected Jury.

3. The Jury will use a 10-point Voting System.
You may vote as follows for Images of other participants:
3.1 Up to 10 Points for 1 image only (i.e. Best Image);
3.2 Up to 9 Points for 1 image only (i.e. 2nd place Image);
3.3 The same principle as above for 8 Points, down to 1 Point;
3.4 You may vote for a Maximum of 12 images.

4. Please use the *Voting Criteria when judging and voting for images. *(See Contest Rules above). This will ensure that a fair and professional system is used by all, to determine individual scores, and also to select the overall best images.

5. For Technical Excellence Requirements: Please ensure that you zoom all selected images to 100%, as part of your evaluation of these Requirements (i.e. par. 6.7 (b), (d) & (e) ).
